Galerie Stihl Waiblingen
For six weeks, Angela Glajcar taught the three international recipients of this year’s Drawing and Paper Art Fellowship at the Museum in Waiblingen. At the same time, she created her solo exhibition Not a cruise, a crossing, which will be on display at the Galerie Stihl Waiblingen from 25 July 2026. The process of setting up the exhibition and developing two new large-scale works was, at times, open to the public.
Angela Glajcar herself sums up how she has experienced this intensive period:
“My role in Waiblingen provides a magnificent platform for my work, and I feel right at home here. The educational dialogue with the younger artists challenges and enriches me. The contact with the public – after all, I do work with an audience here at times – felt right from the very first second. Waiblingen has a wonderful welcoming atmosphere. So I’m delighted every single day that I was invited here, and now we’re all eagerly looking forward to the exhibition openings.”
Angela Glajcar also describes the exhibition itself as a personal milestone:
“My exhibition showcases the essence of my work. It features pieces from all periods, and indeed: this is a journey inwards. An experience from which I emerge feeling strengthened and inspired: Not a cruise, a crossing!”
The opening reception will take place on Friday, 24 July 2026, at 7 pm. The exhibition can be seen at the Galerie Stihl in Waiblingen until 18 October 2026.
SWR has already featured the exhibition in a television report, which can be viewed here: https://www.ardmediathek.de/video/swr-kultur/swr-kultur-sendung-am-19-7-2026/swr/Y3JpZDovL3N3ci5kZS9hZXgvbzIzMzcyNDc
