Emil Nolde

1867 — Born as Emil Hansen in Nolde.
1884—1888 — Apprenticeship as a wood carver.
1892—1897 — Teacher at the Industrie- und Gewerbemuseum in St. Gallen.
1898—1899 — Moves to Munich. Attends a private art school.
1900 — Studies at the Académie Julien, Paris.
1902 — Marries Ada Vilstrup.
1906—1907 — Member of the artist group „Brücke“.
1908 — Member of the group „Berliner Secession“.
1910 — Exclusion from „Berliner Secession“. Founding member of „Neue Secession“, Berlin.
1913—1914 — Expedition into the South Sea.
1920 — Danish citzienship.
1926 — Honorary doctorate of the University Kiel, Germany.
1927 — Moves to Seebüll.
1931 — Member of the Preußische Akademie der Künste, Berlin.
1937 — 1052 works are confiscated by the Nazi regime.
1941 — Exclusion from the „Reichskunstkammer“.
1946 — Appointed Professor. Death of his wife Ada.
1948 — Marries Jolanthe Erdmann.
1952 — Awarded with the medal „Pour le mérite“.
1956 — Dies on 23. April in Seebüll. Founding of the family foundation „Stiftung Seebüll Ada und Emil Nolde“.
